Jeremy + Vanessa ( A Prenup in Macau )

Posted by: FerdieFlores, MSCE, Philippine Wedding Photographer

Location: The Venetian Hotel and Casino Resort, Macau, China
HMU: Make-up by Jeng Sy Flores

It’s been a week since I got back! And even after my laptop harddrive crashed, it did not ruin my excitement to share Jeremy and Vanessa’s Prenup Pictorial.

Actually, Jeremy and Vanessa visited us at Macau. They were both working in China, and Hongkong. They had to take a 1 hour ferry ride to meet with us. Unfortunately, we met pretty late during the night and Macau’s weather was freakin’ fridgid!

We started shooting indoors, and, as expected, we were asked for permits. “Duh, we’re foreigners just enjoying the view!!!”  and so we settled to go outdoors!  We probably could’ve gone away without the wireless flash and the long lens! Darn! Darn! Bugger! We’ll certainly do better the next time!

Meanwhile here is Jeremy and Vanessa!

Telen + Rose (25th January, 2009)

Posted by: Ferdie Flores, MSCE, Philippine Wedding Photographer

Event Date: January 25, 2009
Preparation: Griar Residence, Las Piñas City
Ceremonies, Reception: Bali Gardens, LPC

After 21 longs years, and 2+3 kids they finally got wed!!!   (This is not a renewal of vows, it’s their first time to be wed) – A Civil Wedding!

Telen and Rosemarie booked us over the internet.  It was my first time to see them! I wasn’t able to do their prenup because I was still in Macau…

To be honest, it was quite hard to shoot Telen and Rosemarie as they were shy in front of the cams. Thank God for “digital”, we certainly did not miss the millions of smiles by Telen and Rose… most excited after all these years!!! Congratulations!

We’re up and running again! (How I Restored my Crashed Drive)

Posted by Ferdie Flores, MSCE, Wedding Photographer Philippines

At long last… my laptop is running is again! Whew!

Last Saturday in Macau, I stayed the whole afternoon at home, wasting my time and finding ways to get my machine running! It was a good thing that I persevered and was able to do back-ups of our Macau shoots. I was a bit worried actually… and upon arriving home early morning of Sunday, my hard drive crashed!

item:  Stock hard drive Fujitsu 80GB bundled in HP’s Compaq Presario V3000

After Sunday’s wedding (Telon and Rosemarie’s) I spend hours reviving the drive, forcibly restoring the files… even had a chat with HP’s technical support.  It was a dead drive…. :( they said!

But today, my prayers were answered!  Luckily, I was able to get  “All” files that I wanted from the drive. “all of it, I think! Here’s how I did it (RETRIEVING FILES FROM A CRASHED HARD DISK):

  1. At first, I tried CDR-King’s removable SATA casing drive but to no avail no machine could not detect the crashed drive.
  2. Then I tried a more expensive brand (Transcend) removable casing but got the same thing.
  3. Then I tried a better removable SATA Casing (Asus’ Vento).  Though it’s triple the price of the first, its definitely worth it! Asus’s mobile casing was able to detect the dead drive.
  4. Using “Easy Recovery” program i was able to scan the drive and retrieve 34GB of files! Whew…

Surprisingly, I was trying to access the drive again for a second look but the drive is now totally dead!  Oh well, it served me well…

Lessons learned: always do back-ups especially the important files (such as e-mails/family photos). I nearly lost my most treasured photos of the little Boy’s monthly photos! Sigh! what a relief! :)

To my new client friends Jeremy and Vanessa, no worries, I was able to do the back-up before the drive crashed!  I’ll be posting your Venetian, Macau Prenup soon!

So if any of you had  a similar problem, give me heads up and and I’ll be most happy to help out!

Posting more weddings soon! :)

Date: Jan 21-24, 2009

Pardon me for not blogging as soon as we came from Macau. My machine just crashed! Darn! Darn! Darn!  My Laptop was acting weird when we were in Macau, it was damn too slow! I actualy spent the whole afternoon at home just trying to get my machine running.  Fortunately, my patience paid off and I was able to do leave some back-ups for the make-up class!  Lesson learned: “always do back-up of your files!” You’ll never know when things happen…

Anyway, nuff said… Just wanna share with you some photos during the shoot.

Jhunn + Cathy (18 January 2009)

Posted by Ferdie Flores, MSCE, Philippine Wedding Photographer

Event Date: 18 Jan 2009
Preparation: Diamond Hotel, Manila
Ceremonies: Pasay Adventist Church
Reception: Fernbrook Gardens, Pontefino
HMU: Make-up by Jeng Sy-Flores and Carlan Teng
Events Coordination and Host: Loi Villarama Events Coordination
Church Coordination: Ian kenneth

It was our 2nd – 7th Day Adventist Wedding!  It’s been a while since our first -(Aaron and Veronica’s).  Their wedding was quite different… How different?  well for one, the wedding march/entourage took longer than the actual ceremonies Haha!  It was probably because of the long line (19 pairs of sponsors?)  :) It was like… 30 minutes of intro and 15 mins of the actual wedding ceremony.  No rings, No cords, No Veils… Just plain Blessing from Above and of course, their Greatest Expression of Love!
